Voting and cherry blossom

En route to vote for a local councillor I passed this cherry blossom tree the first I have seen this season.
The fleeting beauty of cherry blossom as the `Japanese so eloquently put it in their haikus is both a celebration of Spring and their ephemeral nature.

“How many, many things
They call to mind
These cherry-blossoms!”
                      Basho Matsuo

We will watch the result of this election with particular interest for it will be a test of the support for Scottish Nationalists in this area. They currently control Stirling Council. But the recent stushie, or row,  over a transgender person kept in the women’s prison a few miles down the road damaged their reputation.

For politics, like cherry blossom, is transitory.
