Lunar cack, or moon poo as this intriguing slime mould has become popularly known. 

Animal, vegetable or mooneral? Slime moulds  eludes classification as their substance changes shape, colour and texture over a short period of time and what is singular one day may become an infinity the next.

I made sure both granddaughters pressed a finger to its smooth silvery skin. Tomorrow ir may be flinging its spores to the wind.
