a lifetime burning

Blowing in the wind

If anything it is even more blustery today, and the bird feeder has been moving back and forth like a pendulum, not that it seems to have put off the visiting birds.

After several years absence, one of the joys of this year's spring has been the return of the Greenfinches.  Once frequent visitors to the garden, their numbers suffered a significant population crash with the outbreak of trichomonosis a few years ago and they were put on the red list of endangered species in 2021.

I've taken this shot from the kitchen, through the double glazing, but I did take some care to try to get the lens aligned with the window by pressing the lens hood up against it, to avoid reflections etc, and the end result is actually better than I'd thought it might be.
