Summertime? Spring? Officially still winter...
Well, the clocks have gone over to summertime, and many consider the equinox as the start of spring.
However, Sweden's Meteorological Institute reckons spring starts when there have been 7 days in a row with average temperatures above 0°C. That spring is still about 200 kms south of us! On average it arrives between 25 March and the 1 April, but it's going to be late this year because the 10 day forecast takes us to 5 April and the average daily temperature is well under 0 until then!
This isn't entirely bad news. Cold weather is very acceptable if it is as sunny and bright as in this picture. At least another two weeks of snow shoe or X-country ski weather!
Like everywhere else in Europe we are happy to get lighter evenings too. We came out of church about 8 o'clock Sunday evening and it was still really light.
