Maiden Bridge

An afternoon trip to the Newbattle workshops was followed by a stroll along the river South Esk on a gloriously sunny and clear day.

We met many dogs and their walkers, watched rabbits playing on the grass, admired a few birds and took photos of the various points of interest, many repeated from past visits, including the bridge itself, which I last blipped in the autumn of 2021, with a brief history. This photo is from the downstream side.

Among my 'repeats' is the curious sculpture tucked away at ground level at the south-eastern end of the building, I first saw it in 2013, before extra photos were allowed, so I include today's photo, for the record.

In a few days time we will return so can blip something else!
