A Meandering Life...

That Was Close...

We didn't stay in Wellington because we had stayed twice before and our trip is not concentrating on cities other than our start in Christchurch. We headed north on the new (to us) State Highway 1.

Last night we stayed in the only Homestay B&B during the holiday just north of Palmerston North. This morning we visited the amazing Memorial Park in Palmerston North where there is a superb play park. MrsS, who worked in childcare for 40 years, has never seen one like it before.

We then visited the New Zealand Rugby Museum at the Te Manawa Museum. Both were well put together and informative. Interesting they didn't have space in the capital for the National museum for rugby. My Blip shows just a highlight or two of our visit before we headed west.

The weather has changed, it is much cooler and here in Whanganui the wind is building up. So far nothing has prevented us doing what we planned so all good.  ;o)

It appears we were blessed yesterday with the ferry. All sailings across the Cook Straight have been cancelled today and tomorrow!
