Finishing Jude......Beginning Holy Week!

It was a busy day at FBC.  This is Palm Sunday when we celebrate Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  The opening congregational song was joyful as we joined hearts and voices filled with praise and worship.  After the welcome by Pastor Wes, the choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists presented a triumphant combination of "Hosanna" and "All Glory, Laud And Honor". Pastor Wes, then, took us to Jude to finish our current study of this important, but less familiar book of the Bible.  Over the past few weeks, we have been urged to contend earnestly for the faith because of who we are and Whose we are.  We are to contend earnestly for the one true faith given to us by God, perfectly revealed in Jesus. Last week, we saw who we are contending with for the one true faith.  We are contending with those who would twist and tweak the faith to satisfy their own desires.  Finally, this week we are told how to contend for the faith.  We are told that we should remember that we were told that such people would come to try to deceive us about the faith, mockers of the faith, who follow after their own ungodly desires.  They cause division in the body of Christ and ignore the authority of scripture to justify their immorality.  We are told to keep ourselves in the love of God.  Pastor Wes had much more to say which I can tell you about later or you can see on the Livestream,  We ended our busy day with a prayers service this evening in which we prayed that God would help us to reach our community.......
