East Stand, Easter Road Stadium

As some of you will know, we have been doing some phenominal pre-match / KO displays at big matches such as the semi & final last year and the semi this year.

This is not organised by the club. It's done by the supporters. Namely a group called Section 43. Kinda a Hibs Ultra group. Young, enthusiastic guys. It's great to see.

But, when it comes to doing massive scale displays as featured at Hampden it not only takes a massive amount of planning, organising, time & physical effort. It also costs a fair swedge of cash. And considering all these young lads are pretty much all school age teenagers they don't have lots of spare cash. So it comes down to fund raising.

Section 43 raised £740 via donations from other fans. However the cost of the display of the physical printed paper is close to £2k.

But something excellent happened, William Hill who are sponsors of the cup said they'd pay for the whole thing which included the paper, delivery and a 7 tonne lorry to take all the prepped rolled up coloured card from Easter Road to Hampden.

What thoroughly decent chaps.

So, the £740 raised got donated to various charities.

More goodness.

Anyway, the above shot, I took whilst at the stadium last night helping roll up & tape all the individual pieces of paper that will be placed at every Hibs supporter's seats to hold up at the start of the match. There have been Section 43 & various other fans there Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday night this week doing all this prep.

Hopefully this year all their/our efforts will be rewarded with something more than just 'Best Display by Losing Fans' award.

Getting a fair amount of hits on the tune I did for the final. Seems what I should have been doing all this time was writing House based football songs.

You're going home in a funky ambience.
