Evocative

The famous (infamous) Bridge of Sighs.  We walked though it as part of the tour in the Doges' Palace.  I'm generally not affected by atmosphere, but this place was different, especially as we saw the cells, and the chambers of - well, not so much inquisition, but rather judgement.  It wasn't at all sensationlised, and all the more poignant for that.

Extras include a ceiling in the Palace (the Rower likened it to too much icecream and he's right); a golden alter under restoration in Chiesa San Zachariah, a crypt (I do like a good crypt, and this was a good one); and finally the iconic drink in Venice an Aperol Spritz.

Here's a link to the Rower's images for even more gold.
