Enjoying the sandpit

It was a sunny start to the day but slowly became cooler as a wind picked up. We had a relaxed morning and our grandson enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in the back garden.

After lunch we headed for Sidmouth making our way through The Byes by the river. It was here that Lucas was given a catkin flower that he called a caterpillar and spent ages playing with it on a flint wall. We had to persuade him to move on with us to the playground. In the blip he is doing his favourite activity in the playground which is playing with sand. We took a quick look at the seafront but it was much too cold and windy to walk along there. We then retraced our steps back to the car via the sensory garden with its fragrant plants which also amused Lucas.

An enjoyable afternoon.
