Drone photographer meets African art

While invigilating in the GOSSIP gallery this afternoon I met David, a drone photographer admiring the work of Gabriel Kings, an African artist and a member of our artist collective.

Later a woman came in who was a person of colour and she gravitated straight to these images of Gabriel’s.
So I asked her what attracted her to them.
She explained it was the use of gold paint, which has huge significance in the Southern Hemisphere for it represents the sun, and she recognized that the artist must be of African origin.
