St Helena

Former RMS passenger/freight ship which from 1989 until 2018 served the remote British island of St Helena in the South Atlantic from Cape Town. An airport was opened on the island in 2017. Freight is still carried by ship from Cape Town. This retired ship built 1989 in Aberdeen at Hall Russell shipyard is now a support ship for Extreme E motor racing events. She is visiting the Clyde and is berthed here at Fairlie Quays a former important Royal Navy establishment now housing a varied range of large leisure craft.
