Gliders

I had a few errands to run up town, but didn't see anything that caught my blip-eye - although it was brilliantly sunny there was also an unpleasantly cold north wind which was a disincentive to standing still and staring about.

I'd noticed these little maple 'gliders' on the pavement when I'd left the house, and they caught my eye again on the way back. They're underneath the Norway maples in the square and are evidently immature, being small and green and having dropped at the wrong time of year. I can't recall ever seeing mature 'gliders' in the autumn, come to think of it. Maybe the cooncil planted sterile trees on purpose...
