Black swallowtail

Tuesday
After a cool start, it promised to be a fine sunny day, and we headed up to the Germantown area, and got a good hike in at Twin CreekMetropark - about 7miles. It’s a great varied hike, with some flattish walking beside the creek, as well as some ups and downs to get the heart pumping! There were wild flowers in abundance - Great white trillium was perhaps the flower of the day, but there was also Toadshade trillium, Dutchman’s breeches, Bellwort, wild blue phlox and wild violets. For my blip, I chose the Black Swallowtail butterfly on a Great white Trillium, but I have added a collage in the extras with some of the others.
