Christchurch Cathedral Under Reconstruction

We had a visit to Christchurch today. It was raining and didn't stop but it did feel a little odd walking around and seeing  bits of the lovely new mixed in with the still broken and to celebrate our interest there was also an earthquake ( Just a mini 4 off the coast. There are now some great shopping areas all linked together but walk a block and you quickly enter the "broken" zone and realise that it's really still a city under reconstruction.
The extra is inside the wonderful new Library building which is an
architectural delight. Rebuilding the Cathedral was a controversial decision and has been amazingly difficult and expensive initially involving remote controlled equipment as it was considered way to dangerous to have people inside the shell and in years and  $$$$  later it will be finished and still be an old Cathedral. The tram is a tourist attraction.
