We left Seattle, Washington at 6:30 on Friday morning and were greeted with sunshine and blue skies as we left the city. We stopped for breakfast at a Dutch pastry shop in Marysville, WA and then took back roads going north to bypass the bridge that collapsed on Interstate 5. We crossed into Canada about noon and then stopped for coffee in Vancouver.
Since the weather was still gorgeous, we decided to take Highway 99 from Vancouver to Whistler (about 120 KM). The scenery was absolutely incredible and there were a number of sites to see including several waterfalls and breathtaking views of the mountains. We got to Whistler about 6:30 PM, had dinner, and then drove back to Vancouver. Checked into the hotel around 9:30 PM, walked around the city for about an hour and am now wiped...
