A time for everything

Bricktionary!

Friday
The forecast for today was cooler and overcast, with periods of rain, so I thought it would be a good day for visiting an exhibit at the Museum Center I have been wanting to see. The exhibit features more than 150 custom built Lego models, some small, some huge, inspired by the letters of the alphabet, and constructed by Australian Ryan “Brickman” McNaught, who is one of only 15 “Lego certified Professionals” and the only one in the southern hemisphere. My thumbnail of course is A for Alligator, but there was also a huge model of a Russian Antonov airlift cargo airplane; D for DeLorean, G for garden, with a huge flower as a centerpiece, surrounded by other smaller garden related subjects; my central photo form the way it is taken, you would think was M for motorbike, but actually it was H for Harley Davidson, the M referring to another model! P was for platypus, and O was for Ocean, illustrated by a giant Icebreaker ship, as well as an Orca whale, not shown. Amongst some of the other models, there was the Seattle Space Needle, the Sydney Opera House, a train, the Eiffel Tower, and the Space Station and Space Shuttle suspended overhead. The detail in some of the larger ones was amazing. The Ice breaker and Sydney Opera house for example, had one side showing the outside, while the other side was cut away, showing all the details inside, including for example people sitting at tables with plates and glasses in front of them, and the People in the audience and the orchestra at the Opera House! There were also several areas with tubs of Lego bricks, where kids, or adults (!) could build models, or just play. A fun outing for all!
