The Untrained Eye

Nostalgia

On our way to stay with friends in Northamptonshire we drove through Greens Norton and called in to see the remains of the Youth Hostel which I stayed at in 1963 but no sign of a plaque to commemorate that visit.

It was typical then of Youth Hostels. Converted mills, lifeboat stations shops and this one , a former Italian prisoner of war camp. The prisoners bonded with the community and one married a local girl and the family still live there!
