A Day In The Life

Sea Hawk

We ventured to the Cobbosseecontee Stream late this morning with hopes of seeing the Osprey we watched yesterday from the grocery store parking lot. MrsP immediately spotted him perched in a tree overlooking the stream. His head continually swiveled side to side in search of fish below, which makes up 98% of their diet • What a magnificent bird! Ospreys are a type of hawk and both male and female look very similar. I’m guessing this one is a female by the coloring on the chest, but it isn’t very pronounced, so maybe it’s a male. Like I said, confusing! • Ospreys mate for life. By the end of April the female lays her eggs and she’ll sit on them until they hatch near the end of May. The male stays close except to leave to catch food for the female, and eventually their little ones • Another bird love story :) • Happy Friday, friends, and Enjoy your weekend ahead!
