This flower got knocked off its stem when we were weeding yesterday, but it will keep in water for a bit so we can enjoy it indoors.  As for the frog, he’s been around since I was a little girl, so he’s a very old frog and quite well behaved.

The stove repair guy recommended a new variety of tomato: Berkeley Pink Tie Dye. Who could resist something with a name like that?! Amazingly, I found a couple at the local nursery and they are now happily settled in the garden.

It was a slow day, foggy and cold til early afternoon, and then pretty hot, but breezy. It’s the season of clothing confusion. I’m always putting something on or taking it off, and never all the way comfortable. All my new seedlings need to be covered up at night. Each one has its own sawed off gallon water bottle for a little greenhouse/shelter—keeps things warm, and bugs and birds out. It’s kinda fussy to remember to take them off when it gets hot, but the protection is worth it.

I just finished a helping of Mango Sticky Rice, and boy was it good! Mango season is upon us. Not that we grow them here, but the ones in the stores are ripe and delicious.
