Getting out

On my way into the garden, I spotted this butterfly on the patio door.  Richard and I have concluded that it's a female orange tip. But we are far from being experts, so any comments/corrections about this idea are welcome.
She - if it was she - was stuck indoors, so I didn't spend too long on photos before carefully shepherding her outside (see extra).  A lovely sight. In both shots, you can see that focus is sharp in parts only; there wasn't time to consider focus stacking, and in any case she was moving a lot of the time.  What a pleasure just to watch this lovely creature.
Otherwise: from my point of view, it's good news on the election front. Many Conservative losses.  The disappearance of the few remaining UKIP council seats, and very low support anywhere for any of the far-right candidates. Sheffield is still in 'no overall control', having been run via collaboration between Labour and the Greens in recent times.  Meanwhile, the Labour Party at national level has just put the local party leadership into what they call 'special measures', forcing the resignation of the local Council leader today.  Both of these things may finally open up space for some much-needed change at local level, where there has been a history of complacency on many issues, not least climate change.  But we'll see. The heavy hand of the party centre also has the potential to do some damage, whatever their good intentions may be.
For now, I'm very, very grateful for a powerful anti-Tory message being heard across England.
