At The Top

I'd booked to stay on a few extra nights at the hotel.  So on Sunday afternoon, when most others had left, I went up Abbeycraig to the Wallace Monument.  Lovely path up through the woods, the primroses and bluebells were just starting to bloom, and lots of lovely old trees.  Then I paid my money and climbed up to the top.  Tiny cathedral-style staircase, never designed for tourism, but fairly interesting and well-designed exhibits on the various floors.  And spectacular views from the top, of course.
