Bedouin Ballerina(s)

Well here we are in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt.

This afternoon, we took a very interesting 4 x 4 Desert Jeep Adventure into the burning sands of Egypt.  We drove in a convoy, accompanied by an armed police escort (!) into the desert, and we were amazed by the stark beauty of the landscape, with distant mountains cloaked in smoky shades of blue, herds of camels just wandering near the roadside, and bedouin villages.

This is a picture of a very energetic bedouin dancer at a village we stopped at in the middle of nowhere.  He made us think of the Sufi whirling dervishes of Istanbul.  There were also several camels all saddled up with colourful gear, and a belly dancer who entertained (the men) with  her undulations.  See extras.
