My kind of spot

Bliss.....being by the mighty Hurunui River. Sun streaming down, the sounds of native birds mingling with sea birds, a warm nor'west wind rippling the water, a plonk of a jumping fish - maybe a salmon or trout and the gentle lapping as the river heads out to greet the Pacific Ocean, just over the sand spit on the horizon.

This one is really nice in large :)

The first Saturday Hubby has had off work for quite a few years, so we made a weekend of it, out today and out tomorrow, what an awesome time we had with our picnic rug and food, a book for hubby and of course the camera for me, one day on the coast and the next day......well you can see for yourselves.

The old Hurunui Bridge was further up the river, a one way bridge, of which we have many in New Zealand. The view from the headland was clear with Banks  Peninsula along the horizon, farmland on one side of the gravel road and the Pacific Ocean on the other, notice how windy it was the cabbage trees are looking out to sea.

Must fly now, hope to get tomorrow's blip up tonight and also Monday's (today).

Keep well blippers :)
