If you can't beat them...

Cliburn Moss National Nature Reserve

the weather forecast gave a yellow Thunderstorm warning for this evening.  The Local Wildlife Trust support group had scheduled a walk round Cliburn Moss NNR.  Things didn't look hopeful.

As things turned out it was a beautiful evening, sunny and calm.  A dozen or so of us turned up and had an enjoyable wander each going at their own speed and enjoying nature as they wanted to.  The blip is the view towards the car park gate.  For anyone not familiar with nature reserves the white edges to the paths are Silver Birch trunks.

The reserve is being managed, since its creation in 1996 with the aim of restoring habitat.  Basically preventing the spread of trees and restoring the fen heath and mire habitats.
