The Edge of the Wold

Before the rain

I have been trying to work the pine trees near the top of Arnside Knott into a composition for some time. It needed an unusual sky. The wide angle enabled me to include just a little of the Kent estuary. The good weather of the last couple of days lasted through until about 0730 this morning, and this was taken as the cloud was rolling in heralded by fingers of white on blue. The rain set in two hours later.

We visited Arnside Simon to admire his 'new' Ford Thames van, he is only the second owner in 65 years, and it has done 54000 miles. It shall be blipped in all its livery when we see it on the road, but today it was tucked away in the garage. Simon is as excited as a child at Christmas, and I can see why.

On the way home from a visit to the tip and then Wolf House, we spotted the Highlands. Not so far away as I thought, but alas in a field that has no public access
