Posing, Napping and Lifting Off

We had a trip over to Minsmere today. I noted 40 species - it was a struggle by Minsmere standards but I got a few year ticks. the birds seemed sparser both in species and number and sadly there were quite a lot of cadavers around - presumably bird flu victims. It was good to see that there seemed to be a healthy population of Avocets, and that the the Stonechats were posing and scolding in equal measure. Extras are a napping Redshank and a Mediterranean Gull lifting off - with a Black-headed Gull for comparison
