Bunnet Stane

Memory is such a strange phenomenon. Whilst I can remember so many details of our visit to the Bunnet Stane in November 2013, Mr Flum swears he can remember next to nothing and not even the photograph and text in that blip can nudge his cerebral neurons into recall.

For several months he has been planning to 're-visit' in order to jog the memory that lurks in the depths of his brain. Today we repeated the same journey, but this time the weather was much more pleasant, the air clear and the walk enhanced by fields of sheep with lambs and spring flowers by the path. My photographs were taken from very similar positions purely because they best represent the strange erosion of the stone.

After a couple of hours we repaired to the Old Barn Coffee Shop in Auchtermuchty for coffee and cake, grateful to be served close to their closing time, before pottering home.
