It's hard to believe that Ben Fogle, who rowed across the Atlantic, walked unsupported to the South Pole and summited Everest grew up thinking himself a failure because he was neither academic nor sporty - not much good at anything.

These successful achievements made him realise that the terms 'failure' or 'success' are not clear-cut or absolutes but are relative to one's degree of contentment with life. With talk interspersed with video clips of each topic, Ben illustrated how he felt during these challenges and the philosophy that resulted from his achievement.

He felt that he needed to 'rewild' himself, to become part of a natural environment not judged by conformity or societal pressures. In his BBC series 'New Lives In The Wild' he shared time with those who have, for whatever reason, chosen to live isolated self-supporting lives and found them all to have found fulfillment.

His inspirational talk gave us much to admire and to consider in our own lives.
