We did a walk from Clifford Chambers across the fields to Atherstone-on-Stour and then onto Preston-on-Stour before heading back to Clifford, a circular walk. I don't care much for there and back walks.

The weather was ideal and whilst at Preston we visited St. Mary's church which has an awful lot of memorials to members of the West family who have lived for centuries in the big house in today's blip photo.

Interestingly they let sheep graze in the churchyard to keep the grass down.

The house is easily visible for quite a bit of the walk and makes a good photo opportunity.

On the way back home afterwards we called in at the Howard Arms in Ilmington for what we felt was a well deserved drink in their garden behind the pub.
