A lovely walk around Nercwys forest today. Spent some time chatting to a retired forestry worker, he was telling some of the history of the forest when he first worked there in the 1990s. He had also been secretary of the Welsh Ornithology Society and was very knowledgeable on the local birdlife even though he doesn’t live locally.
