Unexpected Treasures!

AHA! If you look hard enough.....a little card at the Tourist Information..an exhibition..one that was still on..ie: not fermé! La Fabrique de l'Opera du Capitole...hmmm..was not sure what that would entail, but it was being held at the Convent of the Jacobins, which was already on our list to visit - in hopes that it would not be "fermé au public pour des travaux" too....Seems it is not! And, bonus, an exhibit of some sort?

Well... talk about unexpected treasures! We stepped into the  exhibition space and were blown away...This was in a 13th century convent - so imagine the setting..ancient stone walls and soaring arches high overhead, vast open space...and then fill it with glorious, rich, vibrant colour, lavish theatre sets, fabulous costumes, sculptures, props, fabrics, wigs, all it takes behind the scenes to create the setting and costuming for the opera or ballet performance we see on the stage...from design sketches to construction..For me and my sister, it was like being a kid in a candy store! Forgive me for all the photos, but I could not  help myself!

Oh yes, the Convent des Jacobins? It is awesome too...(extra)
