Craning My Neck

I spotted a pair of sandhill cranes in the prairie which appeared to be feeding in a drainage channel. I expect it's still a bit wet down there and I know they liked pecking away in the wetland earlier this year. I had to crane my neck to see them as they were hidden amongst the vegetation whilst pecking at the ground.

Sadly my presence probably disturbed them because they began to move off and walked back up into the woodland which is when I got this shot. I tried to get both in the frame, but they wouldn't cooperate.
