Phoenix Park Tour

Colm a good friend of mine gave the tour. We go way back. All proceeds are going to  the  The Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People. He started it off at the Duke of Wellington Memorial. The Duke was born in Dublin and had a very interesting life. If you have a half an hour to spare you can read about him here.

Some nice paintings of him here and a bit more of his life story.

Wellington the Iron Duke

After that we went on to the site opposite Áras an Uachtaráin (The President's House) where the  Phoenix Park Murders  took place. Then up the Papal Cross where the Pope visited in 1989.

Then on to the cricket grounds followed the by polo pitch, back to the Arus and we finished up at the Zoological Gardens where Colm’s brother regaled us with the Dubliner’s song of the same name.
Thanks Colm, am looking forward to the next tour.
