Green On Grey

It rained all day and got very windy. Finding a sheltered spot, I wasn't hopeful because the light was so poor. I couldn't see any signs of life and began to scan around with the camera and long lens.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the heron. It was stock still, neck outstretched, but before I could get set it had struck out. No joy for the heron. It skipped along logs and hopped from one to another looking for supper. I followed the antics and got a few images with the bird in the clear.

I think this image is a bit over sharpened. I processed it in Topaz Photo and then finished in Lightroom. Again the greens were a challenge, but it turned out not too bad.
