'Moments contained' is the name of this new bronze statue in front of Rotterdam's railway station ~ it's sculptor is Thomas J. Price from Britain.

The image bears the name Moments Contained, or: captured moments. The young woman of color has a bun and is dressed in sweatpants, t-shirt and Nikes. It will soon be the first image of the sculpture route through the city, which runs from Stationsplein along the sculpture terrace on Westersingel, eventually ending in Rotterdam South.
'Often images of powerful men'
Thomas J Price (London, 1981) is known for his large bronze sculptures of contemporary figures he calls 'everymen' and 'everywomen'. Moments Contained is about the feeling of being put away as 'the other'.
"I've often placed my work in public spaces," says Price. "I love that it makes people aware of the things that have surrounded us for centuries, thousands of years. Often images of powerful men. The scale of the work is there to challenge our current conceptions of art in the outer space, who may see Who should be represented?"
