Wound up in Wexford

Miscommunication....

.... is expensive!

Z had told me she (and family) were arriving in Rosslare on Thursday 28th June.  Days mean little to us, so when I put this on the calendar for 28th, I failed to notice that 28th was in fact a Wednesday, not a Thursday.  Hence, we turned up at Rosslare port this afternoon, but Z isn't due till tomorrow!  Good job it's just 50 kilometres, not 200.

We had spent the morning doing domestic chores.  W baked focaccia, and pressure washed the patio.  I cleaned the inside of the garden room windows.  There was a visible level on the windows and doors that was clearly the highest point our vendor could reach - the windows were much dirtier above this level.  I used a little stepladder to clean to the top.

Then we moved pots and furniture onto the patio.  I vacuumed the garden room - too cluttered for Rocky - whilst W put new felt pads on the bottoms of some chair legs.

I then set Rocky to work in the rest of the downstairs area, whilst we went to Rosslare.

Once established with Z that this had been an unnecessary journey, we felt obliged to visit a garden centre on the way home to justify the journey.  They had a rather nice selection of alpines, which jumped into our trolley.  And we've been promising ourselves a black elder, so of course we had to buy one when we saw it.

Tomorrow will be more garden chores and W may make more focaccia as we've now eaten some of the one he made today.  If there's time left over, we may make a start on the sitting room.
