A day at the beach

A couple of shots from our walk to the beach today.  The first part of the walk is down a long hill and the second is along the headland of the bay to the beach we like.  These are a couple of shots from the second part of the walk; the main is while still walking along close to the water and the extra is  towards the end after climbing up a little; the walk culminates in a bit of a scramble down 100 fairly steep and winding steps over the rocks.  Walking back, the steps are a bit daunting but at least you get the worst part of the walk over with first.  We often get the bus back up the hill but today we walked the whole way back which made us feel virtuous.  Google maps says it is 3.1km which may not sound much but in the heat is quite strenuous.  Google also laughingly says it is 'mostly flat'.  Yeah, right.

When we got back yesterday W realised that she had lost her sunglasses somewhere, which was quite annoying.  We don't often get taxis here as the hourly bus is fine, but yesterday we had got a taxi back with our shopping.  This morning the taxi driver passed us and shouted out of his window "I've got your sunglasses!"  W and sunglasses are now reunited.
