Mad King

Tonight was a treat.

We went to a performance of Shakespeare's King Lear at Traquair House - 'the oldest inhabited house in Scotland'. It was a promenade production with each scene in a different part of the grounds so we were gently herded round.

Much depended on the weather but it was a lovely evening. A little cold towards the end but at least we had more clothes on than some of the actors. The biggest problem were the midgies and it's the first time I've been at a play where you could get a free squirt of midge repellant at the bar! The barman also gave us a tip that if we couldn't hear what was going on then move to a place where you could hear. Simple.

The production was excellent with strong performance all round. Took a lots of iPhone shots which can be a bit blurry. This is one of the King who had gone mad, seeing lots of spirits.

We saw them too.
