Drummer Bear

He's cottoned on to the joy of drumming quite late compared to the Bean, but that hasn't stopped him having a bash at it today! We need to get some new sticks again... or very carefully wrap gaffer tape around these ones as they're splintering and spikey where Bean's caught them on the rim of the drum. Not to mention the tips. Bear likes eating them still too.

Been a funny old day today. Managed to get outdoors in the morning to inspect the tadpoles and froglets (pleased to see they've not hopped away yet after putting a plank of wood in fod them to hop out if they wanted, but forgot to put anything in place to let them get back in), and managed to pot on our sunflower seedlings. They are not staying outdoors until their pots have been rimmed with copper to deter the snails.

Bean went swimming, and Bear and I went to the Post Office to collect a parcel - which turned out to be a most fabulous book: The Messy Family!!

From there on the day was not so good. Bear had a micro nap. He woke on transfer to the car and resolutely refused to go back to sleep. There was an epic EC'ing fail when I was occupied in the kitchen making lunch. Steve was in and out all afternoon helping with Foodbank. Bean was exhausted from swimming and distraught that none of his friends could come to play, and I was exhausted and had tummy ache and was not keen on going out.

Steve did cook a yummy beef stirfry for tea and I discovered Bear isn't adverse to stirfry or veg, he just prefers tiny morsels! He ate lots of broccoli and spring onion and courgette, in tiny pieces!

And then although Bean went to bed fine, Bear did not....
