sulphur beetle

It's stinking hot in Berlin. Spent the morning before it got really hot in the Gleisdreieck Park looking for some beasties. It's much better now. Lots of bees, lots of firebugs, plenty of cabbage whites, some admirals, a common brimstone and some fairly chunky beetle that escaped me and flew away. I hadn't seen a sulphur beetle (Cteniopus sulphureus) before. On the way back there were plenty of mice in the U Bahn station Yorckstrasse (see extra). Quiet afternoon. We tried to go to an exhibition but the U Bahn didn't run due to an emergency. It was too hot anyway. We went home via the ice cream shop.
