In Full Sun

A monarch on a walnut tree. I saw it return to the same spot half a dozen times. Must be something about walnuts that it likes, or maybe just that spot in full sun.

I read butterflies are active during the day when they can get heat from the sun because their body temperatures need to be around 85 degrees in order to fly.

And I was looking for them amongst the milkweeds!
