Small Tortoiseshell

One of several which visited the garden today. After taking Mum for coffee with her friends this morning [ rather poignant as with Mum moving on Tuesday we won't be doing his every week any more although we will try to arrange a meet up maybe once month] we came home to be joined for lunch by the family who had come to collect Roddy [ the cat] who's been staying for a few days.
During the afternoon we were visited by 5 different species of butterfly but only this one stayed still long enough for a photo :) The others were both Small and large Whites, Red Admiral, Holly Blue and a Meadow Brown which I haven't seen in the garden before.
