Chickpea harvest

I pulled up the chickpeas to make upside down stooks to ensure they dry completely before storage. Then rotovated this patch in preparation for late summer planting.

Hulling the chickpeas by hand is a Sisyphean labour but they taste completely different from store bought chickpeas.

A cool northerly of Atlantic air kept temps to just below 30c. Late tonight I can see lightning running behind the main Apennine ridge as a big cell moves down the Adriatic coast 100km away.
