Sorry
I apologised to the cherry tree as I cut it down. It is not something I did lightly, but as I explained yesterday it was the tree or the compost bins…
Today is the first I’ve been fully on the go from start to finish since shingles. The weather played ball: wall to wall sunshine and 14C by 2pm. Perfect.
In the garden I line-trimmed in the orchard, barrowed compost into raised beds, felled the tree, and cleared up boysenberry prunings.
In the kitchen I made a leek and parsnip bake, parsnip and beetroot curry soup, a batch of mayonnaise, baked a sourdough loaf and waxed last weekend’s Farmhouse Cheddar cheese.
And of course we had a good dog-walk. It’s been a lovely day. I’ll sleep well tonight.
