Themed

We took Mum to lunch in the Thomas Lord pub in West Meon.  Lord was the founder of Lord’s cricket ground so the whole thing is cricket themed. The best thing is a taxidermy model of a cricket match staged between ferrets with stoats and weasels in attendance but I’ve blipped that before.  Personally I think sticking cricket balls on top of vases is a bit perfunctory.

Nevertheless a nice lunch whilst we watched the rain cascade down outside.  ‘No prospect of a walk today’ to misquote Jane Eyre…so we popped in on Nancy and David who live in the village, Nancy nursing a badly broken wrist from tripping over a piece of decking at a hotel in Cadiz.

Early supper and watched two eps of The Witcher which has rather disappointingly gone off the rails…will get to the final one but I feel a bit let down.

Still reading the final Shardlake …but I’ve cheered up now a new one has been announced.
