Grand Fondo

Or whatever it is called.

Perth and Perthshire was hosting this big cycling event today- taking off from Tay street and racing round the roads and country lanes of Perthshire ending up at the finish line at scone Palace! Perth has been buzzing with people from all over the world with their bikes.

We decided to have a day off and started off with breakfast at tabou then watched the start of one of the age groups from Tay street. We then walked to scone Palace to see the earlier competitors reaching the finish line. I was gobsmacked at the age groups. One of them was up to 80, all fit as fiddles!

When walking back there was some breaking news from S Korea about participants suffering heat exhaustion and medics coming and all sorts of stories . As Cameron hadn’t texted at all today (not unusual for him) my mind was going off on tangents and I had him lying in a coma on a bed and no one knowing who he was. I burst into tears and we had texted the family group chat and there was no response. Then he came on and said his phone was out of charge and he was at a beach party……. He also said he was 90% sure he was being taken to Seoul to a hotel for the remainder of the trip. He isn’t sure though. One thing he doesn’t want is to come home early.

Anyway, it seems the extreme heat, as it seems to be in many parts of the world, hotter than average for S Korea, is the cause. It seems everywhere is hotter apart from here. That’s fine, they can keep their extreme heat I’m fine with 19 and sunny which it was today.
