Castlerigg stone circle

This morning after an excellent hotel breakfast we headed off to meet the family for a game of pitch and putt! I’m hopeless! The winner was to have an ice-cream but we all had one!!  The bending knees, up and down terrain etc really tired us out! (Ro and myself)

We didn’t join in the chippy lunch as we’d had such a big breakfast but had a sit down!

Son drove us to Castlerigg stone circle! I’ve wanted to see it ever since they were children and had a school trip, or camp near there!

We carried on through the Whinlatter forest, fabulous views over Bassenthwaite lake and on towards Crummock water.  We stopped at a shop they remembered from previous trips for some fudge and then a stop by a very small waterfall in front of Grasmoor Mountain. (See extra)

On to Buttermere and back to Keswick through the Honister Pass.  By that time I had fallen asleep! The area has stunning scenery!  I really enjoyed the trip.

We dropped half the party in town where they did the shopping for dinner and we made for the campsite.  P and A made a lovely dinner and we played cards again!!

Tomorrow It’s home via Liverpool and get ready to have the girls for the night Wednesday! Also Digital group and art later that same day!
