Upton on Severn

It's been a fine day weather-wise.  We drove out to Upton on Severn, a small town, unsurprisingly,  on the River Severn.  The last time we were there it was during their music festival, we went with Jo and James.

The town was quieter and much less busy than the last time and we found a bookshop/cafe where we had a nice cup of coffee.  We then walked down to the river, people were out sitting in the warm sun and watching the river go by.

As we walked into the town centre we saw this tower known as The Pepperpot due to its shape.  The tower, which dates back the to the 13th/14th century,  used to be attached to a  church and have a spire on top.  The spire was removed and the church demolished some time back, the building is now a Heritage Centre and holds the local Tourist Information office.  It is classified as An Ancient Monument.  I'm not sure about the dog in front of the tower, see extras, I'm sure there must be a story!
