Wishing tree

The day started with an early morning Bird Walk that our guide does each morning. The benefit was obvious as she has developed a relationship with many of the rainforest birds that come and feed off her hand. The extra shows a brightly coloured male Regent Bowerbird and the other may be a female or an immature male as the males don’t acquire adult plumage till four or five years old .
There were quite a few of the Satin Bowerbird well known for liking to decorate their bowers with blue objects .

Later we we went for a walk to find the O’Reilly’s Wishing tree seen in the blip - quite an amazing tree! One of the delights of this trip has been to see the rainforest trees - some of them are spectacular and I particularly like the Black Booyong trees with their enormous buttresses.
